Who I am
This site is run by [Your full legal name], trading as Marginalia, [street address], [city], [country]. I’m the data controller, which means I decide how any personal data you share here is used.
You can reach me about anything on this page at hello@marginalia.studio.
What I collect
I collect only what you choose to give me, plus anonymous visit statistics.
Why I’m allowed to use it
When you send an enquiry, I use your details to take steps you’ve asked for before we sign a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Once you’re a client, I keep invoices and records because the law requires it (Art. 6(1)(c)). Anonymous statistics fall under my legitimate interest in running a useful site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Cookies and analytics
This site uses [analytics tool], which doesn’t set cookies or collect personal data. The only cookies are the technical ones WordPress needs to work, so there’s no cookie banner to click through.
Who I share it with
I never sell your data. A few trusted services process it on my behalf, under data processing agreements:
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don’t turn into projects are deleted after [24 months]. Client records and invoices are kept for [10 years], as required by [Lithuanian] tax law, then deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can:
- See the data I hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Ask me to delete it
- Limit or object to how I use it
- Get a copy to take elsewhere
- Withdraw consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email me. I’ll reply within [30 days].
Complaints and changes
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, please tell me first and I’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to [the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI)] or the data protection authority where you live.
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of the page.
